Ulsan and Gyeongnam’s Shared University, USG Shared University* was established as the regions’ core educational infrastructure
2020 Ministry of Education [Local Innovation Project based on Local Government-University Cooperation (Regional Innovation Platform Project)] Promote the establishment of Ulsan-Gyeongnam-type shared university USG Shared University* as a core infrastructure
*USG Shared University: A shared university platform on which 4-year universities, research institutes and corporations work together to cultivate and supply talents regional industries are in need of.
USG Shared University is an aggregate of human and physical resources and it will play a pivotal role in driving regional innovation
USG Shared University is an aggregate of human and physical resources that are foundations for regional economic, industrial, social and cultural development and it will play a pivotal role in driving regional innovation. Individual universities are not able to respond quickly to regional demands and have limitations in playing a pivotal role in driving regional innovation.

Online Interdisciplinary Majors

Selected students get to pursue two majors and take latest subjects through remote learning
Each major selects students and allow them to pursue two majors. Students also get to take the latest subjects through USG Shared University’s remote learning infrastructure (Content/Academic/Resource Systems, Zoom Lectures, VR Lectures) and the credit transfer system among participating universities.

Students wishing to pursue a USG Shared University major must complete liberal arts prerequisites or educational programs the major requires in their 1st and 2nd year
※ Eligibility: Students must be attending universities participating in the Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Platform of the Local Government-University Cooperation-Based Regional Innovation Project. There is no limit to which major students are from and 100 students are selected for each core area based on a set of selection criteria. Document screening reviews students’ GPA and added points earned (subjects that give added points, foreign language proficiency) and students are selected after an interview.

Offline and Field Training
Students selected for each major get to take online courses on USG Shared University’s e-learning infrastructure in their 3rd and 4th year and receive offline and field training if needed.
